    About this item

A small, early nineteenth century, silver resist lustre mug. This is nicely decorated with a central foliate band and a trellis. The decoration was painted on with oils and then the piece was dipped into the silver lustre glaze. The oils resisted the glaze and left the design showing in the colour of the body of the pot, hence the term “resist lustre". It is on a creamware body and it dates from c.1820. This is a super example and it is in excellent condition.

    Dimensions: Height 6.7cm. Diameter 7.6cm. Width 9.8cm.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
