    About this item

A tin mould with a penny top design, copper top. The combination of copper and tin in moulds became popular in the 20th century as tin was a much cheaper metal than copper. This example is marked with ‘F114’ over ‘CO’ and it dates from c.1910. Originally the copper top would have been tinned all over but the tin has now been removed, revealing the copper beneath. There are still some traces of the tin left on the copper. There is a small split on the edge of one of the circles to the top and there is rust showing on the tin to the interior. Dimensions: Length 14.6cm. Width 10cm. Height 5.1cm.Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
