Rare and antiquarian books: Transcripts of Parish registers of Gloucestershire Excerpta ex registris parochialibus in com. Gloucester, by Sir Thomas Phillipps. Quarter board in ruby red morocco with gilt lettering to cover and spine. Removed book plate to inside front cover. Title page also removed but with typed index attached to the endpaper with facsimile printing of handwritten transcripts from church records of Gloucester parishes dating from the middle of the 16th century. Sir Thomas Phillipps was a renowned bibliophile from ‘Middle Hill’ Broadway, Worcestershire.
Published 1854
