About this item
This Grainger Worcester New Oval teapot is decorated with a hand painted pattern of leaves and berries. I think that the pattern number painted on the base is more likely to be 601, rather than 109. Otherwise, it is unmarked, but corresponds to plate 6 on page 47 of Henry and John Sandon's "Grainger's Worcester Porcelain" and plate 1002 of Berthoud's "A Directory of British Teapots".
It measures 275 mm (10.75 inches) from spout to handle and stands 160 mm (6.25 inches) high. There is some loss of the gilding, two very small chips to the pouring lip and two small chips to the inner rim as shown in the photo.
Maker : Thomas Grainger
