About this item
You are viewing a vintage Nepalese buddha statue in bronze
The statue is almost four feet tall - 115 CM - so great for outside
Being rust it can sit outside with no fear of rusting
The Buddha’s right hand is raised in the abhaya mudra, a gesture symbolising protection, reassurance and the dispelling of fear, while the left hand rests calmly in the lap in a meditative posture
The figure has a peaceful, contemplative expression, with finely modelled facial features and the classic ushnisha topknot
Draped robes fall in naturalistic folds across the body, adding softness and movement to the composition
