About this item
These cushions are made from a pair of vintage chakla from the Kutch region of Gujurat, India. They would have been used to hang on the wall as decoration and i have left the little loops at the corners for this purpose. The embroidery is cotton thread on cotton and is a delightfully small and dense chain stitch. There are lots of flowers and peacocks, and some mirrorwork. I particularly like the colours. A lot of green and red comes through which makes them quite summery. My favourite feature though are the wonderful fabric tassels, also in summery colours and slightly eccentric.
The cushions are backed in plain linen and there are zip fasteners and feather pads.
The needlewoman designed these chakla as a pair so I would prefer to sell the pair together rather than spilt them up.
