A George III blanket box or linen chest on later stand. Constructed from figured mahogany with moulded edge above a shaped brass escutcheon with working lock & key with brass carrying handles to the sides. The stand having a shaped frieze and raised on short cabriole legs with claw and ball feet. Condition- very good on later stand, without the stand the trunk would make an ideal coffee table.
