A panoramic mid century modernist composition in oil, painted onto canvas and dated 1961.
Capturing the dramatic coastline of the French peninsula of Brittany, this painting features long expressive brushstrokes that juxtapose against the angled shapes of the old walled city. This panoramic composition is confidently executed yet very restful – it would make a lovely spot to rest one’s eyes on.
This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary gilt frame with red undertones and with an inner linen window. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
