A soothing and very well-executed modernist mid-century landscape painting, executed in oil onto board.
This landscape composition depicts a panoramic view of a 2 cows grazing in a vast open pasture, and set against a background of lush greenery.
Using an array of soothing colours that complement each other very well, the artist has confidently used short dabs of paint to give rise to the various forms as well as to demonstrate depth and width to the painting.
Using a colour palette in earthy tones of greens, blues, and yellow, the artist has applied and layered energetic and expressive painterly brushstrokes in a swift manner to compose this scenic composition and imbue it with an uplifting feel.
This oil on board is housed in a deep-profile gilt frame with a slim green window that pairs very well with the painting. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has some scuffs and light wear, which is in keeping with its style.
