    Walter Emsley was a painter of landscapes in oil and watercolour, who lived in Manchester and moved to Bushey, Hertfordshire where an example of his work can be seen in Bushey Museum and Art Gallery. Others are held by Gallery Oldham, Glasgow Museums, Salford Art Gallery and Southampton Art Gallery. Emsley exhibited his work with the RA, RCamA, MAFA and at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. 

    The present painting "Leafy June, Bushey, Herts" is an oil painting on canvas measuring 36"x 24". Is is signed and dated 1896 and is framed giving an overall size of 40"x 28". On the back of the painting is the title "Leafy June, Bushey, Herts".
