    Image size 18.3 inches x 16 inches ( 46.5cm x 40.5cm ).
    Frame size 25.8 inches x 23 inches ( 65.5cm x 58.5cm ).

    Available for sale from Big Sky Fine Art in the English county of Dorset, this original painting is by William Mellor and dates from around 1890.
    The watercolour is presented and supplied in a sympathetic contemporary frame of Victorian or Edwardian appearance (which is shown in these photographs), mounted using conservation materials and behind non-reflective glass (Tru Vue UltraVue® UV70 glass).
    This antique painting is in very good condition, commensurate with its age. It wants for nothing and is supplied ready to hang and display.
    The watercolour is signed lower right.

    William Mellor began his working life as a loom tuner in the textile industry, becoming a professional artist at the age of 30. He painted in both oils and watercolours, travelling extensively around north Wales and the Lake District in particular to produce a timeless record of classical British landscapes. He was a member of the Royal Hibernian Academy and today his works are in the collections of the Walker Gallery in Liverpool and the Manchester City Gallery.
