About this item
A Victorian copper pudding mould with a central pipe. This type of mould was often used for baking as the central pipe allowed the contents to cook from the inside as well as the outside, allowing for more even cooking. This example is marked with the orb and cross symbol used by Benham above the pattern number ’458’. It is made from a substantial gauge of copper and dates from c.1880. The design consists of six ornately shaped columns with dome tops and the design works equally well whether displayed on a shelf or hanging. It is in very good condition but the tinning, to the interior, is worn.
Dimensions: Diameter 11.5cm. Height 10cm.
