About this item
A Victorian copper, oval jelly mould. To one end the mould is marked with the orb and cross symbol used by Benham above the pattern number “57” and to the opposite end is a workman’s mark which can be seen in one of the images. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1870. The design consists of two tiers, each of eight, rounded top columns.
It is in excellent condition but the tinning, to the interior, is worn.
