About this item
A Victorian, oval copper mould with a pennytop design to the top and fluted sides. This is stamped with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams beneath which is the pattern number ’106’. To the sides it is stamped with large letter ‘C’ s. It is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and it dates from c.1880. The pennytop design was made in many different sizes, in circular, oval and even square form, and was called the pennytop due to the overlapping circles which look like old copper pennies. There is slight denting to two of the pennies at one end of the mould. Other than this it is in very good condition. The tinning, to the interior, is worn.
Dimensions: Length 17.5cm. Width 11cm. Height 9.6cm.
