About this item
A 19th century, English copper mould in the shape of a gourd. This is stamped, on the rim, with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams. Above this is a number '5' which is possibly a pattern number. The piece is very naturalistically modelled and it is made from a substantial gauge of copper. It dates from c.1880 and it is in excellent condition. The tinning, to the interior, is slightly worn and grey.
