About this item
A good quality. Victorian copper pipe mould. This is stamped with the orb and cross symbol used by Benham’s above the pattern number ‘295’. To the opposite side is a workman’s mark in the shape of a radiating sun. The design consists of six fluted columns, each having three tiers and a flat top. The central pipe (hence the term pipe mould) allow the contents to cook from the centre as well as the sides so that the cake or pudding cooks quicker. The mould is made from a heavy gauge of copper and dates from c.1870. It is in very good condition but the tinning, to the interior, is worn.
Dimensions: Height 11.3cm. Diameter 13.5cm.
