About this item
A nineteenth century, three part, French copper, game pie mould. This type of hinged mould was used for making the pastry sides for a pie. The pie would then be filled and a pastry cover made which would often be decorated with pastry shapes. This is quite a small example and the form is simple, with fluted sides. One of the sections is marked with a number ‘2’. It is made from a substantial gauge of copper and it dates from c.1880. It is in very good condition but the interior is worn.
