About this item
A huge, 19th century, French copper mould. Moulds of this size are quite uncommon and very hard to find. They were generally used for baking cakes as edible jelly does not stand more than 6 inches high. This is a very decorative example with a wrythen, fluted top section and angular columns to the lower section. It is made from quite a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1870. There is one tiny hole to the base of one of the angular columns and there is a very small split which has had a brased repair. Otherwise it is in good condition. The tinning, to the interior, is badly worn.
Dimensions: Height 21.6cm. Diameter 22.7cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £25. Most of Western Europe add £10.
