About this item
A large, and very ornate, 19th century English copper mould. This is marked with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams above the pattern number ‘468’. To the opposite side is a workman’s mark in the shape of a radiating sun. The mould is made from a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1870. The design, which resembles a castle turret, has a circle of points to the top, with four pointed topped, double columns to the sides. It is a fabulous, and unusual, design and it is in very good condition with just tiny dents to the tops of two of the high points. The tinning to the interior is still in good enough condition for the mould to be used.
Dimensions: Height 16cm. Diameter 14cm.
