About this item
A large, 19th century copper mould. This is marked with the pattern number “256” and the engraved initials “I.G”. These would be the initials of a previous owner. It is made from a very heavy gauge of copper and dates from c.1870. The design consists of wide, fluted sides which meet to form a stylised flower to the top. There is very slight pitting to the copper, around the rim, but generally it is in very good condition. The tinning, to the interior, is worn.
