About this item
An interesting, Victorian copper mould with a Latin crest to the side. This is engraved with a lion and the motto "FORTITER ET FIDELITER" which translates as "bravely and faithfully". This would have been the family motto of the original owner. The oval mould is a very positive design which is split into eight angular columns. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1870. There are a couple of tiny dents but other than that it is in very good condition and the tinning to the interior is still good, so it could be used.
