About this item
A nineteenth century, French copper mould made by Trottier of Paris. This is marked “TROTTIER PARIS” in a circle around “FNT”, above a pattern number ’15’, and it dates from c.1880. It is also stamped “ST JOHN’S COLL.”, relating to St. John’s College, Cambridge. This College was established by a charter in 1511. Apparently this mould is from the collection of one of the head chefs who worked in the college kitchens.
The mould is made from quite a substantial gauge of copper and it is an attractive, two tiered shape with a rolled rim. There is a very small split in the rim but other than that it is in good condition. The interior is worn, and slightly flakey, so it could not be used without re-tinning.
Dimensions: Height 15,5cm. Diameter 13.7cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Western Europe add £10.
