About this item
A nineteenth century, copper ice cream bombe mould of wrythen form. Both the mould and lid are marked “JONES BROS. DOWN ST. W.” within a circle and they are also stamped with a number ‘4'. The mould is well made, from a substantial gauge of copper, and it dates from c.1880. This mould would be lined with ice cream and then filled with a fruit or chocolate sauce. The sauce would then be covered with more ice cream and, when taken to the table and cut into, the sauce would explode out from the bombe. The small brass foot is unscrewed to allow the ice cream to be removed from the mould more easily. The mould is in excellent condition and the tinning to the interior is still good enough for occasional use.
Dimensions: Height 11.8cm. Diameter 10cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
