    About this item

This watch is sold in our Watches for restoration section and does not come with a warranty. If you are looking for watch with a full warranty, please go to our Stock page or ask for assistance to find what you are looking for.

This watch works well and keeps good time but has not been cleaned or serviced by us. However please note:

The hands are mismatched and the hour hand snags on the seconds hand

The watch is really hard to get out of the case and the winder commonly comes out fully when you pull on it to retract and release

The lever set setting is uncommonly difficult to get out and you need a stromg pair of tweezers to pulls this out to its full extension

This is a rare American Railroad grade pocket watch by South Bend which had a total production run of 4000. This is the model marked “The Studebaker” – not to be confused with the model just marked Studebaker.

Movement – the top quality model 2, nickel full plate movement has a lever escapement, a micrometer regulator and gold jewel screw settings. The movement is signed “The Studebaker, 323, South Bend Watch Co, South Bend, Ind, 17 Jewels, Adjust to Temp & 5 positions” # 533025. The movement is in 85% mint condition – The movement has some scratches

Case – the movement comes in a silver alloy open face case, which has a screw off bezel ad the movement swings out from the front – this is stiff and you need a watch knife to lever the movement out. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – light scratches and wear

Dial – the white enamel has a full set of blue steel hands but the minute hand looks like a replacement. The dial is signed “Studebaker”. The dial is in 100% mint condition

The watch is stem wound / lever set – this is very stiff to pull out fully, I have needed a watch knife to pull it out successfully

The watch measures 57mm wide x 20mm deep

The watch has a mineral glass
