About this item
A late 19th century (circa 1865) finely crafted Amphora acid-etched claret decanter.
This piece has been acid-etched with various designs including a ball decoration & Greek key pattern. It also depicts vases of flowers entwined with an anthemion design.
John Northwood II invented an etching machine around 1860 and this produced geometric designs, particularly that of the Greek key pattern.
This item has no chips or damage.
