An imposing Mid 19th Century Arched Chimneypiece in Portoro Marble.
The Jambs comprised of twin plain rouge Griotte Marble columns on moulded block feet with bases, sockets and lonic capitals in black marble. The Jamb panels, arch spandrel and frieze are in Portoro Marble, with the fluted keystone in black. The spandrel shave raised and fielded panels with a moulded arched aperture. The frieze is of double-breakfront form, and is surmounted by a bold dentil moulding in matching Griotte marble, below a double breakfront Portoro shelf with black under-mould.
