    1 Fine British Seascape Art Marine 20th Century Oil Painting Masted Racing Sailing Yacht Ship "Beyond"

    Signed by the known British maritime artist John Wright.

    John Wright a specialised in maritime portraiture, based in the Isle of Wight at Bloomfield Cottages, Adgestone. Examples of his work are held in the Hovercraft museum.

    Title "Beyond"

    Oil on canvas.

    Circa late 20th century dated 1980.

    Subject racing yacht masted sailing ship name "Beyond" in full sail, side profile view on choppy rough high seas, with fore, main and aft triangle sails, bearing the Union Jack blue ensign flag also another blue, white red flag hoisted high on the foremast, with 3 gentleman figures by the bridge. At the stern you can see a lifeboat inflated dinky survival boat, wth life jackets next to it which bear the name of the ship "Beyond". Also having such rather fine detail to the rigging & sails. Above a mainly cloudy overcast grey cloudy sky with patches of blue showing through. Below the seas are relatively rough & choppy. In the background you can see land to the right.

    Set in original gilt frame.
