    Bust portrait of the navigator and explorer Christopher Columbus after Sebastiano del Piombo, bust-length, facing front, within a roundel, within a square frame with lettered cartouches above and below and a decorative border with flora and fauna (monkeys, snails, spiders, butterflies, flies and insects). Lettered around top of roundel "Christophorus Columbus ligur, Indiarū prim' inuētr Ao 1492" monogram "BH" (?) to the bottom; in the upper cartouche "Qui rate ueliuola occiduos penetrauit ad īdos / primus et Americam nobilitavit humum"; in the lower cartouche "Astrorum consult', et ipso nobilis ausu / Christophor' tali fronte Columb' erat".

    Published as the frontispiece to Theodor de Bry's "Collectiones peregrinationum in Indiam orientalem et Indiamoccidentalem" (1595), vol. 5.
