A restful and soothing large mid-century coastal landscape painting, executed in oil onto canvas.
This scenic composition presents a panoramic view of a coastline, with houses by the water’s edge and some boats resting at sea. The vast expanse of the ocean meets the sunset sky in a seamless fusion.
A calm palette including shades of brown, orange, and pink has been used, infusing the painting with a sense of. warmth. Through the use of a combination of gentle as well as expressive brushstrokes, the artist has skilfully captured the reflections as well as rippling effects casts on the water’s surface.
This oil on canvas is housed a in complementary wood frame with a unique molding. The painting has light scattered craquelure present, commensurate with age but is in overall good vintage condition. The frame has some paint loss but this is in keeping with its overall style.
