About this item
A fine example of an early 18thc Queen Anne cannon barrelled flintlock boxlock pistol...it has an engraved border and foliate action with the makers name I. Ward....probably a London maker with proof stamping underneath the main part of the barrel....the cannon barrel unscrews to allow the loading of the pistol....the nicely shaped walnut butt has inlaid scrolling silver wire...in good condition with some rubbing to the hallmarks, but still identifiable and a little loss to some wire inlay....all expected with an item of this age and use.
English. C1710-14.
