    This movement has been recased in an English silver pocket watch case which has Chester hallmarks for 1891

    The watch is ticking and running and keeps good time but is lacking a minute hands and has not been cleaned or serviced.

    Movement – the gilt full plate movement is fusee driven with a cylinder escapement with a steel ‘scape wheel. It has beautifully pierced watch cock with a diamond endstone. The movement is signed “Flower and Mainwaring, Chichester Rents, Chancery Lane, London , 10 1630 ”. The movement is in 95% mint condition – superb condition

    The watch has its original gilt dust cap

    Case – the movement comes in a later English silver open face case, which has a hinged back and bezel. The watch is wound from the back, set from the front and the movement is accessed from the front also. The case is decorated with coin edged sides and a smooth plain finish on the back and a carved bow. The case is in 95% mint condition – light wear only and a lovely early case

    Dial – the off white enamel dial has a full set of gilt hands. The dial is in 95% mint condition – a little chip in the centre

    The watch has a plastic glass

    The watch measures 54mm wide x 20mm deep

    The watch is key wound / key set and comes with an antique watch key
