About this item
A charming set of copper bodied laboratory flasks with tinned surfaces, originally from the laboratory at Rugby School and dating to around 1900. Simple, functional forms are elevated here by their wonderful surface quality, with softly worn finish, minor irregularities and a muted industrial character that only long use provides.
Together they make a particularly decorative grouping, whether left empty or used as informal vases, as shown. A handsome and unusual run of antique scientific vessels with institutional provenance, well suited to a kitchen, pantry, console or country house interior. A rare survival with real decorative appeal.
