This is an English silver chatelaine with hallmarks for Birmingham 1888 and makers marks for LS
The chatelaine has a hinged tongue on the back
The front of the chatelaine is made up of three panels of pierced and carved silver each depicting an image of the Virgin Mary.
The last panel terminates in a metal dog clip
To the side are two lengths of later silver links with metal dog clips attached by metal links
The chatelaine measures 190mm x 70mm and is in 95% mint condition – excellent condition but just marred somewhat by the later lengths of chain and metal dog clips
