About this item
This is an early gilt chatelaine made up of a top panel with a fixed tongue
This top panel is decorated with pierced work featuring swags, foliage and two figures
Hanging from this are 3 smaller panels decorated with the same scrolls and pierced work. Also each one has a putti figure.
Hanging from the main panel are 4 lengths of chain with alternating pierced and carved panels. All four terminate with dog clips. Hanging from the final panel is another dog clip
The chatelaine measures 155mm x 55mm and is in 85% mint condition – loss of detailing on the figures
