About this item
A spectacular Japanese Meiji period 2 fold screen with Shibayama style decoration. Both folds have black lacquer panels with inlaid and on-laid carved bone and mother of pearl depicting birds in flight amongst flowering branches. The panels with red lacquer surrounds and all set within wooden frames each with carved bird cresting rails, lower panels and sides. The reverse having red ground lacquer panels decorated with trees on a hill and the whole with working steel casters. Condition:- Very good. Dimensions:- Max.Height…72''/ 183cm.
