About this item
A very unusual Victorian silver plated six slice toast rack formed from crosses rifles, very finely cast and each stamped also with the number 1871 just above the trigger. The handle is formed as a wreath. Stamped with a registration design lozenge dating the piece to October 1871. The maker's mark is rubbed but it was made by Thomas Campion & Sons of Sheffield.
It measures 15cm (5 7/8") high, 17cm (6 5/8") long and 10cm (3 7/8") wide.
In very good condition. A couple of very minor dents to the ball feet and there is a very fractional wobble (not an issue when on a table cloth). No repairs and very minor handling wear in the main but the maker's mark as I say is rubbed.
