About this item
This pocket watch was made by the Swiss company Zenith for the Canadian railroad. This scarce RR.56 grade had a total production of 1000.
Movement - the nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Zenith, Extra, RR.56, 21 Jewels, Timed and Adjusted 6 positions and temperatures, Ant-Magnetic, Swiss Made” # 4732010 and is in 95% mint condition – small marks only.
Case – the movement comes in a “Sturdy” 10K gold filled case made in Canada by Fortune. The case is also signed “Zenith”. The case has carved edges and a smooth plain finish on the back. The case is in 90% mint condition – light wear with 1 small bruise on the back
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and an inner red enamel 24 hour chapter ring with the 18 falling nicely in the sub seconds. The dial is signed “Zenith, Extra RR.56, 21 Jewels, Antimagnetic, Swiss Made” and is in 100% mint condition
The watch has a synthetic glass
The watch measures 51mm wide x 15mm deep
The watch is stem wound / lever set
