This gilt metal piece would have slipped over a belt and would have had chains hanging down from it attached to accessories
The chatelaine starts with a carved panel which has a fixed tongue which slips over the belt
This front panel is decorated with detailed carved putti figures and set with a red stone.
Behind there two gilt hooks in addition to three suspension loops
This upper panel measures 67mm x 49mm x 13mm and is in 95% mint condition
