About this item
These 3 cushions are made from a vintage Yoruba aso-oke cloth. The cloth was made from narrow strips of handwoven cotton and wild silk that are a wonderful natural pale brown colour. The strips were sewn together to make a larger cloth that was worn for ceremonial occasions. The strips have a pair of wonderful berry coloured stripes down the midde and decorative lace like open work. They also have occasional rows of berry coloured weft stitching. I've used the aso-oke for both sides of the cushions, and there are zip fasteners and feather pads.
