About this item
This is a magnificent large portrait oil painting depicting William Fellowes' (1706-1775) who is smartly dressed and wearing a Georgian wig with his right hand resting on a stone ledge.
Painted after a famous (1748) 18th-century work by listed British artist 'Joseph Highmore' (1692-1780).
The imposing piece is mounted within an equally impressive substantial 19th Century gilt moulded frame which bears the gilt wooden presentation plaque that reads: William Fellowes 1706 - 1775.
Originally commissioned for a very large residence the work has, to all intent & purpose, the look and the feel of a genuine mid-17th-century example.
Indeed, to add further to the look of character and authenticity, the work is both titled, dated (1748) and signed.
A fabulous piece that is guaranteed to add charm and grandeur to any setting.
