Available for sale from Big Sky Fine Art in the English county of Dorset, this original oil painting is by Donald McIntyre and dates from the late 1980s or early 1990s.
The painting is presented and supplied in a sympathetic contemporary frame (which is shown in these photographs), mounted using conservation materials and behind non-reflective Tru Vue UltraVue® UV70 glass.
This vintage painting is in very good condition, commensurate with its age. It wants for nothing and is supplied ready to hang and display.
The painting is signed with monograms twice lower left.

One of the great British landscape and coastal artists of the twentieth century, McIntyre’s work demonstrates a strong post-impressionist style, often in his signature palette, and continues to command a strong following. 
Born in Leeds, but raised in north-west Scotland, Donald McIntyre developed a unique sense of light and colour, and it is this palette which later distinguished him from the other artists of Wales, where he lived for most of his life.

McIntyre qualified as a dentist and worked for many years as an Educational Health Officer. However he also trained at the Glasgow School of Art and under some eminent artists. When he was 40, he finally committed himself to art as a full-time occupation, and never looked back. He brought to his work the exuberant spirit of his Scottish upbringing and a sound appreciation of European Art.

McIntyre was a member of the Royal Academy, the Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, the Royal Cambrian Academy, the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Pastel Society. 

His work has been exhibited at the leading London galleries, including the Royal Academy, the Royal Scottish Academy, and today it forms part of many leading private and public collections.
