About this item
This is a truly exceptional quality large three-quarter length acrylic and oil on canvas portrait painting depicting the 17th Century Old Master Baroque artist 'Michael Dahl' (1657-1743).
The outstanding image portrays the Swedish-born artist standing beside a plinth with his hand stretched outwards towards an ancient Italian stone female bust beneath which rests his artist pallet and brushes.
The original example of this magnificent Oil Painting is on display at the National Portrait Gallery and it was a self-portrait by the artist that was completed in 1691.
We strongly recommend that one views the images of the original 17th Century portrait painting online, as you will discover with delight that this example has a perfect resemblance to the original Old Master work!
Dating to circa the 1980s-1990s and signed lower-right corner 'W. Fairburn.
The piece is impeccably framed in a substantial and conforming 17th Century style gesso moulded frame, and the painting and frame are both presented in a perfect museum-quality condition.
An extremely desirable Oil Painting that will add charm, character, and grandeur to any interior setting.
