A poignant and beautifully executed mid century modernist cityscape composition, painted in oil onto board.
Presenting a row of coloured buildings, the artist has skilfully reconstructed this scene down to blocks of contrasting colours, executed through the use of distinct short and brisk brushstrokes.
A muted and subdued colour palette including shades of blue, pink and beige have been used, instilling calm and gentleness to this painting.
This oil on board is housed in a deep profile wood frame, with an inner cream coloured border. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some ageing and paint loss to its inner border, but this is keeping in line with its overall style.
