A very striking mid century oil composition, presenting a landscape scene where a woman in a red and blue dress and a hat is touching a large elephant, that is back-facing the viewer.
A rich and saturated colour palette has been used, and bold and expressive brushstrokes have been executed in an invigorating and confident manner, imbuing the painting with liveliness.
This oil on board is housed in a beautiful wide-profile gilt frame with an inner deep-red velvet lined window that pairs perfectly with the painting. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has areas of minor scuffing.
