An expressive mid century modernist composition of a dockside, executed in oil onto board.
A large white boat that punctuates the center of the painting has just docked, and on the left, we can spot a few figures by the water.
Containing impressionist qualities, the artist has swiftly applied loose brushstrokes that not only capture the fleeting and atmospheric conditions of that moment in time, but add a textural quality to the painting.
A plethora of beautiful muted pastel colours have been used to render this composition, adding an uplifting feel.
This oil on board is housed in a complementary grey wooden frame. There are some area of paint loss to the frame’s edges as shown. The painting is in excellent vintage condition.
