This is a magnificent quality original early 18th century Oil Portrait Painting depicting 'Thomas Fletcher (b.1695) of Earl Sterndale, Derbyshire'.
The aristocratic gentleman is portrayed in a half-length portrait position wearing his long curly wig, a white scarf, and his brown velvet smoking jacket.
Thomas was the grandfather of 'Sir Thomas Fletcher of Betley Court, Bart'.
Provenance: There is an accompanying framed A4 parchment sheet detailing the Fletcher family tree - see images.
It is a beautiful piece and it is presented in fabulous ready-to-hang condition.
Mounted within its original exceptional quality period giltwood moulded frame with original gold-leaf paint still present.
