Oil on board of Gele Tulipen (Dutch for Yellow Tulips) in a green ceramic vase by Belgian artist Peter Colfs, 1906-1983.
This Antwerp artist represented his country in the 1932 summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
Peter designed one of the largest tapestries ever woven measuring over 43 x 28 feet - Triumph of peace was woven in Belgium at royal manufacturers de Wit and presented to the United Nations in 1954. It hangs in the
General Assembly building in New York.
Excellent condition.
Size quoted includes the frame. Image size 40cm x 52cm.
Reframed by us in a solid wood, painted and distressed frame, retaking the original hand painted cream slip.
