About this item
These cushions are made from a pair of vintage chackla from the Kutch region of Gujurat in India. The needlework is exquisite, on a pinky red cotton ground and is in varying colours, mainly yellow, orange, pink and off white. Chackla are used to decorate the walls of houses and cover plates of offerings on ceremonial occasions. These are in excellent condition and are around 40 to 50 years old.
The mirror work is sound and held in place with good secure stitches, although I would not recommend these cushions for an area with young children. The cushions are backed with a sturdy handwoven indigo cotton, and there are zip fasteners and feather pads.
Overall they are a delightful decorative pair of cushions.
