About this item
These wonderful geometric patterned cushions are made from a vintage tube skirt from Sumba island, Indonesia. The textile is handwoven in thick cotton using the pahikung technique, where the pattern is developed with a supplementary warp. The colours are natural dyes in a lovely earthy pink and off white, with the yellow and indigo painted on after the weaving. The tube skirt is typically made in 3 separate parts sewn together. I've used the plainer section of the skirt for the cushion backs and the decorative pahikung section for the cushion fronts.
There are zip fasteners and feather pads.
