About this item
This is a really beautiful Swat marriage pillow. It is 50 to 60 years old and was embroidered by a very skilled woman for the marriage of her daughter or grand daughter. The colours of the silks are still jewel like. The predominant reds and pinks are broken up with yellow, green, orange and blue and the stitches small and neat. I've added green tassels to the corners and this picks out the lovely green colours in the pillow. I've also used an indigo handwoven textile for the back which has a narrow pinstripe. This is a vintage Songjiang cloth and it really finishes off the ensemble.
